Backstory / History

Toxo-Zombies are among the most disturbing products of Cobra's toxic experimentation program — soldiers or civilians who have been so thoroughly contaminated by Cobra's experimental chemical compounds that they exist in a state between life and death, driven by primal aggression and immune to conventional pain. Created through exposure to the same Toxo compounds deployed by Cobra's Eco Warriors division, these shambling horrors represent Cobra's most extreme form of biological warfare. The Toxo-Zombie sculpt is one of the most unique and striking in the entire G.I. Joe universe — equal parts horror and action figure. Collectors love it for its shock value, its uniqueness, and the incredible creative possibilities it opens up for horror-themed or post-apocalyptic crossover dioramas.
