History & Military Use

The MP5A4 is a variant of the Heckler & Koch MP5 submachine gun featuring a fixed full-stock and a three-round burst capability in addition to semi-automatic and full-automatic modes. Chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum, the MP5 family was developed in the 1960s and became the world's most widely adopted submachine gun, serving with military, law enforcement, and intelligence agencies across more than 40 countries. The "Swordfish" designation refers to a popular custom or aftermarket configuration that enhances the weapon's ergonomics and accessory mounting options for operators. The MP5 platform rose to global fame during the 1980 Iranian Embassy siege and has remained the go-to weapon for close-quarters and counter-terrorism operations ever since.
