History & Military Use
The Rockwell AN/PSN-11 PLGR — nicknamed "Plugger" by troops — was the first handheld GPS receiver fielded in large numbers by the US military, entering service just before the Gulf War. It provided dismounted soldiers and vehicle crews with encrypted GPS positioning using the military's Precise Positioning Service (PPS). The PLGR saw widespread use through the Gulf War, Somalia, the Balkans, and the early stages of OIF and OEF before being replaced by the DAGR. Its distinctive yellow-green housing made it immediately recognizable on any late Cold War to early GWOT US military custom figure build.
3D printed products may require minor post-processing. Support remnants, layer lines, or slight surface variations are normal and can be cleaned up with a hobby knife, needle files, or light sanding. Final appearance may vary slightly depending on printer settings and material used.
