History & Military Use

The Meal, Ready-to-Eat replaced the older C-Ration and Long Range Patrol ration in 1981 as the standard individual combat ration of the US military. Designed to be eaten without preparation, heated with a flameless ration heater, or consumed on the move, the MRE provides around 1,200 calories per pouch. Over 24 varieties have been developed across its service life, and the MRE has fed American troops in every conflict from Grenada through present-day operations. Love them or hate them, they're an essential piece of any US military field kit.

3D printed products may require minor post-processing. Support remnants, layer lines, or slight surface variations are normal and can be cleaned up with a hobby knife, needle files, or light sanding. Final appearance may vary slightly depending on printer settings and material used.
