History & Use

The MICH (Modular Integrated Communications Helmet) 2000, first fielded in the early 2000s, introduced a lower-profile design with cutaway ear sections to accommodate communications headsets and improve situational awareness compared to the older PASGT helmet. Widely adopted by U.S. special operations forces before later evolving into the broader ACH program for conventional troops, the MICH 2000 became an iconic piece of GWOT-era kit.
