Backstory / History

Mattias Nilsson is Just Cause 2's most memorable and gloriously unhinged character — a Swedish mercenary and arms dealer of questionable sanity who greets every explosion, firefight, and impending disaster with the unbridled enthusiasm of a man who has found his true calling. Formerly of the Swedish Armed Forces, Mattias went freelance after deciding that following rules was slowing him down, and has since become a fixture in conflicts across the globe wherever there are things to blow up and money to be made. His cheerful nihilism and total disregard for self-preservation made him an instant fan favorite in the Just Cause community. Collectors love Mattias for bringing wildcard energy to any modern military or mercenary diorama — he's the one who always makes things more interesting.
