History & Military Use

The China Lake pump-action grenade launcher was developed in the late 1960s by the Naval Weapons Center at China Lake, California. Designed as a field-expedient multi-shot grenade launcher, it saw use with Navy SEALs and other special operations forces during the Vietnam War, offering the ability to fire multiple 40mm grenades in rapid succession. The sawed-off variant reduces the weapon's profile further, making it even more suited to close-in fighting and unconventional operators who needed maximum firepower in compact form. It remains one of the most distinctive and sought-after collector weapons of the Vietnam era.
