Backstory / History

ALICE Radio Backpack 2 offers a distinct second configuration of the RTO's essential load — a different arrangement of the radio carrier, antenna routing, and external pouches that reflects the variety of field-expedient packing solutions RTOs developed across different units and theaters of operation. No two RTOs packed their radio exactly the same way — unit SOPs, personal preference, and mission requirements all shaped how the radio rig was configured. ALICE Radio Backpack 2 gives builders the variety to field two distinct RTOs in the same diorama without visual repetition, or to model different eras and units of the same ALICE-equipped force. An essential companion to ALICE Radio Backpack 1 for any serious Vietnam, Cold War, or Gulf War build.
