History & Military Use

The 1-quart ALICE canteen, issued in its iconic curved plastic body with a metal or plastic cup and cover, became one of the most recognizable pieces of US military field equipment. Clipped to the ALICE belt via its snap-on cover, it kept soldiers hydrated across jungles, deserts, and urban battlefields from Vietnam through Somalia, the Gulf War, and into Afghanistan and Iraq. The canteen and its cover are an absolute must for any US Army or Marine Corps build spanning the 1970s to early 2000s.
