Backstory / History

Hector Ramirez is the G.I. Joe animated universe's most persistent journalist — a tenacious TV reporter who had an uncanny knack for showing up wherever Cobra or G.I. Joe were making news, microphone in hand and fearlessness in abundance. Modeled loosely on real-world tabloid TV personalities of the 1980s, Ramirez became a beloved recurring character whose segments provided comic relief and exposition in equal measure. Despite having no combat training whatsoever, he regularly found himself in the middle of firefights, explosions, and alien invasions with nothing but a camera crew for protection.
